Johnny Air and St. Brigid making connections and doubling collections from the LES!

By Ayesha - Posted on 18 January 2012

ARK thanks and commends the 5th and 6th graders at St. Brigid School for their outstanding work collecting books for their penpals and the students of Bungsuan Elementary School in December 2011. Their efforts will double the number of books in rotation at Bungsuan. Now every student will be ensured to have at least one book to read during lunch, reading periods, and after school.

Extra special thanks to our partner, Johnny Air Cargo for shipping every single book and letter free of charge. From Johnny Air — North America President, Jay Angeles: “Johnny Air believes in ARK’s mission of helping impoverished schools in the Philippines through empowerment of local communities, thereby making them stakeholders in their schools. Johnny Air is very involved with the Filipino community in both the US and Philippines and supporting ARK’s mission is very much in line with its civic obligations.” ARK and Johnny Air are excited to support a new year of friendships through the penpal project; and expand literacy through the book collection.
